Leicester Maternity Services is an NHS service providing a single point of access for all maternity referrals in the Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.. The aim is to make sure you have access to the right care from day one. Leicester Maternity Services will triage your referral based on the information you provide and the hospital will contact you to start your antenatal care. In the meantime if you are worried about your pregnancy, please tell your GP straight away.

Congratulations on your pregnancy! Whether this is your first baby or not, your first step is to fill out our self-referral form for maternity care at University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust. If you are more than 12 weeks pregnant, or are unable to complete this form, please call the Community Midwifery Office on 0116 258 6111 (press option 5). This form is for those who: Live in Leicester or Leicestershire, are registered with a Leicester/Leicestershire GP surgery, want to have a baby at University Hospitals of Leicester. If you want to talk more about this, call the community midwifery office on 0116 258 6111 (press option 5). Why early contact matters: Please contact a community midwife as soon as possible. They will talk with you about your choices and help plan your care. It is best to be seen between 8 and 10 weeks of pregnancy. After you complete the form, someone from the maternity team will contact you to book your first appointment. If you don’t hear from us within 7 days or need more help, call 0116 258 6111 (press option 5). Medication in pregnancy: Do not stop taking any medication without speaking to a healthcare professional. Many medicines are safe during pregnancy.
